https://youtu.be/DqJyOHLs_H8 for Edited. The unedited video was provided to speed the information to needed areas in Texas and other areas of the country so affected by the intense winter storm Feb 2021.

Some principles of how to stay warm in a power outage and how to cook safely. - Block off a single room of your house and work to bring the temperature up in just one room. This might be the kitchen or another room with a small space to heat and a safe heat source. Close all doors, Hang blankets on the doorways and any windows that don't face south to insulate the space. Bring mattresses into the room and blankets and keep each other warm. -Dress in multiple thin layers. - Ensure the sun can shine in south facing windows to gain all the heat possible during the day. Hang blankets or curtains to insulate overnight to reduce heat loss. - Use safe heat only. No heat is better than poisoning - Stay hydrated with plain water. - Turn off water to the house at the main if there is any risk of the pipes freezing. Or let the faucet at the end of the run drip to keep the water moving to avoid a frozen pipe.
